Following is a brief summary of the work to date. More information and photo will be published soon. We want to build on these programmes to reach more children and young people: contact us if you are interested in finding out more.

WYAP – Music Matters music project: working with Wiltshire College Resolve programme, and the Integrated Youth Service through Connections, virtual schools and referrals

We’ve been working with NEET young people in small groups and one-to-one at Resolve, Wiltshire College.  We’ve based the work around  independent learning plans from the young people, enabling them to have greater control in shaping their learning. We’re also developing relationships with social services, Connexions, and youth offending teams to establish a process for individual referrals and setting up further sessions for hard to reach young people. We’re also identifying and supporting music leaders progression paths.

Wiltshire Music Centre – music clubs for young people with learning disabilities in Swindon and Wiltshire

ZoneClub is a music project working with young people with special education needs. We meet once a month at the Wiltshire Music Centre. We’re focusing on creating a sustainable model for this work that can be replicated in other areas. This includes training new music leaders, exploring funding models, developing existing relationships with Salisbury Arts Centre and making new connections in Swindon.
