Following is a brief summary of the work to date. More information and photo will be published soon. We want to build on these programmes to reach more children and young people: contact us if you are interested in finding out more.

Gloucestershire Music Makers – work with Pupil Referral, Hospital Education, and Foster Care services.

We’re working in partnership with the county’s music education hub, Make Music Gloucestershire, to deliver their inclusion strategy. We’re  developing existing and new relationships with commissioners and music leaders, delivering music activities, and training new leaders through a shadowing scheme.

We will ensure that within three years, all LAC living in Gloucestershire are able to access sustainable, high quality music education and musical progression that meets their needs; and that we have an effective model in place for sustainable music provision in PRUs and Hospital Education.  As part of this, we’re working towards direct purchase of services by PRUs and Hospital Ed from Music Leaders on long term regular basis wherever possible.

Roses Theatre – Voice It programme for disadvantaged young people in Tewkesbury

The “Voice it” project has been taking place weekly at The Tewkesbury School on Friday afternoons. Sessions in songwriting and harmony singing are open and available to young people in the Tewkesbury district, with a focus on disadvantaged young people. So far 40 disadvantaged young people have participated regularly, and two new young music leaders have been trained and are ready to work in Tewkesbury. Voice it! has started to be established as a regular vocal activity for young people in the town and has performed to a small closed group in The Roses Theatre.
